Pandey Department of Pharmacology, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras hindu University, Varanasi-221 005, India Elaeocarpus sphaericus fruits were extracted vide different solvents. The extract fraction were examined for antiinflammatory effects, against specific imflammogens. The study conducted in rats reveals further information on relative dominance of anti- inflammatory activity against specific inflammogens in varying fractions. The inferences indicate the persence of plural active principles with specific effects on select mechanisms involved inphenomena of inflammation, providing adequate therapeutic prospects.
