Guest guest
Shastriji (the San Diego Shastriji, that is <g>) started the evening with a beautiful and moving Har Homa in the lovely church garden. The secluded garden, with it's flowers, old trees, and private little grottos was already almost palpable with Devic energies, and a perfect setting for the ritual. There were so many interested attendees, that we had to spread blankets, for sitting, a ways outside of the immediate circle. Shastriji led the attendees in mantram, prayers, and ritual for abundance in knowledge, wisdom, and healing. After the Har Homa, the attendees adjourned to the church sanctuary for kirtans. The kirtans were led by the celestial-voiced Larissa, and her accompanists. Dynamic Indian percussion drove the rapidly building energies. Attendees remarked on the infusion of "charge" the music was putting into the sanctuary. One (Anglo-American) attendee, who had never experienced a Hindu religious ceremony said, "It was like a building electrical power surge." Then, Mirabai offered shaktipat and darshan to the attendees. For those who haven't yet experienced this, it really IS a heart-to-heart encounter with the Divine. Everyone's experience is different. I'll tell you what little I can verbalize about mine, last night. First, one whispers into Mirabai's ear the sorrow or impediment that one needs removed. She nodded, and told me to give (the impediment) to her. She placed her thumb against my third eye, and shot a bolt of energy down my spine, through my chakram. Some people experience this energy as cooling. Mine felt hot-- again, like an electrical current. When she looked into my eyes to give me darshan, I had three visuals. First, I saw Her face, serene and unchanging, over eternity. Then, I saw the true nature of the impediment that I needed removed. Finally, a vision of the nature of Purity. Then she hugged me, and I felt her "pull" the impediment out through my third chakra. She blessed me, and let me go. Needless to say, Mirabai keeps a lot of tissues, at hand. The energy charge and the "unblocking" move many people to cleansing tears. It was interesting, some of the attendees, unfamiliar with Hindu religious practices seemed a little reluctant to approach Mirabai, at first. But, as they felt the energies, and witnessed the effects of the darshan and shaktipat, the line to Mirabai got longer, and lon
