Guest guest
Dear Members, Thanks for all the group and personal responses I got in my request for help/advice. Regarding the poor feeding and animals especially, I wanted to share that I do take care of some wild rabbits that lost their food source in a drought here. Helps with reducing thinking about my problems for sure and gives the joy of communing with nature and just enjoying the little cuties! Rabbits must not be very relevant to remedials I guess. So that list about Western alternatives to Vedic charity remedials was great! Wouldn't give up caring for the bunnies for anything though. On the bad karma question, I oddly enough just lost my 1-face rudraksha on Friday. It simply fell out of the setting (which wasn't the best for longevity anyway; it's the setting with the bit of thin silver plate curved around the bottom of the bead, and then a piece of wire over the top that pulls in the sides of the plate tight. I think the wire must have gotten bent up and the bead just slipped out of the setting--so warning to others with this kind of setting: adding some very thin silver wire on the sides of the bead will keep your bead set). I am wondering if this loss indicates more bad karma, or broken karma? Since it's not a mala breaking, but a bead simply taking leave of me, I am afraid it's an ill-omen. I had, however, a small, unsavory tamasic thought that since it was likely lost at work on what was my last day there, that Lord Shiva jumped ship to stay at my workplace and kick some butt on my behalf--I was laid off in a very unappreciative manner. I had worked tons of overtime in very bad conditions and took on responsibilities beyond my position to make sure that the projects moving through the shop got done on time and well. During this push I developed a skin condition from overexposure to fiberglass. I did it hoping that my good hard work would insure my position there as work is so scarce in Seattle now (they laid me off right before the 3 month probabationary time ended and right before benefits kicked in). They likely laid me off because I had, two weeks ago, and under doctors' L&I orders, refused to work in that department until the skin had healed. Several of the younger guys who also got the condition this summer simply kept working, being young and immortal as young guys tend to be. Although my ADD sometimes made me work slower than others, I still saved them much time and money by being so caring about the work itself and not letting slipshod work get pushed through only to be returned by angry clients (as had happened to them in the past). I could understand laying me off if they really needed to cut expenditures (which I am not altogether convinced of anyway given their high-end clientele and billings), but given the work I did for them, I would think they would have shown respect and appreciation by giving me at least 2 weeks notice, or part-time work while I looked for other work as they are aware I cannot collect unemployment. Still, perhaps it's just me getting paid back for awful behavior in past life, regardless of what happened. So, even though the Shiva-defending-me fantasy is probably immature and ill-conceived, I am hoping that someone out there has encouraging experience with losing a rudraksha, and that this doesn't indicate more and more difficulties headed my way. Guest guest
It sounds like you are dwelling in your doo doo. I think one of the first rules of incarnating is no whining. ; ) Ryan , "e. mars" <e_mars1133> wrote: > Dear Members, > > Thanks for all the group and personal responses I got in my request for help/advice.
