Guest guest
Hi, Yes, you can get bangles made by Nick Hodgson of astrogems.com. He does use man-made emeralds and rubies as a rule, however. He swears they are more consistent, better quality, and less expensive than natural ones. He's the one who supplies most SRF people and monastics with bangles. You might look at Thaigem.com for unheated precious stones for a less expensive natural option than buying these gems from a Vedic gemologist and have someone make you a bangle. Not sure the about the quality of what Rudraksha Centre offers--I think others here have gotten them before though and could tell you. I have heard mixed comments on both kinds of bangles. My personal suspiscion is that you are best served by the dictum: navaratna gems only, flawless, 2 carats or more, which makes for an extremely expensive piece of jewelry. But there are people who have had top of the line gems with no effect who got great effects with rudraksha. (Kari here for instance, but I'm not sure that she had a full navaratna, maybe ask her). And still others who get great effects with the navaratna malas sold by rudraksha centre whichdefinitely do not incorporate flawless superior gems. So, cross your fingers, pick something, and dive in! Guest guest
Nick is the man. He is a personal friend and I have not only seen much of his great work but witnessed its effects on people and heard their testimonies. Guest guest
Namaste Kriyaban, Rudra Centre India can custom-make the larger 2 carat plus arm navratna bangles. Please write Miss Neeta at neeta_ind and she will get back to you as soon as she is free. While I personally have no experience with gold or copper, one of the ladies in Sydney that I know, had a $50,000 navratna gold upper arm bangle. It has top class gems and worked fabulously well. As for copper, I haven't experienced a navratna set with this metal. Guest guest
Hi everyone - on the subject of Navaratnas - yes, there are at least two ways to go. The flawless route will cost you a fortune and if you can affors it that's great. But my experience is that when high quality gem beads are used as in a mala - the added weight and quantity gives a similar effectat far less cost. The Navaratna malas from Miss Neeta are excellent and I have recommended them to my clients with great feedback and results. I also have looked at lab-grown rubies and sapphires, both blue and yellow, and I consider them to quite suited for astrological applications as long as they are the identical chemical makeup as the natural gems. With emeralds you have to be more choosey because there are more types of lab-grown emeralds than rubies or sapphires and they are not all the same composition as the natural emerald. Hope this helps.... with love, alan >"e_mars1133" <e_mars1133 > > >RBSC : Re: Navratna bracelet >Tue, 21 Oct 2003 05:29:24 -0000 > >Hi, > >Yes, you can get bangles made by Nick Hodgson of astrogems.com. Guest guest
Hi, FYI: I wanted to tack on to Alan's comments and the friend of Nick's that I have heard from several people (can't comment myself) who recommend and use Nick's gems that his emeralds are considered extremely good lab grown ones. He is really particular about his sources, as finding a cheaper alternative to the natural ones was a passion of his. Best wishes. love, e , "Alan Scherr" <source311@h...> wrote: > Hi everyone - on the subject of Navaratnas - yes, there are at least two > ways to go. Guest guest
Wasn't navratna that didn't work for me. It was several individuallly prescribed gemstones. Being a woman who LOVES pretty rocks, I was keenly disappointed. <g> I do have a lagna pendant, from Rudra Center, with a beautiful navratna mala. However, I haven't worn it, much, so I can't give feedback as to efficacy. I became quickly enamored of using combinations of just the beads, instead, and sort of forgot about the navratna. Love, K. > > I have heard mixed comments on both kinds of bangles.
