Guest guest
Namaste Surya, Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences. You're indeed blessed, much more than I am! Won't be able to comment about the prices or authencity you mentioned till I check things out further..... Please bear with me.. At last count, at least that was what I encountered with prices being 10 times more than US$1500 to $2000; that availability was very limited due to few harvests producing high mukhi beads such as 16 mukhi and upwards, while 5 mukhis are abundant everywhere. It was very honorable of you not to have profited by 30,000Rps. Wonderful hearing about your Chiknas. What diameter are they? Just curious, hope you won't mind. Both were absolutely authentic and from very reputable dealers who had top quality material. I had dealt with both in the past. They absolutely are not booked years in advance. There is not just 2 or 3 fields supplying all of India. I'm not sure who is giving you this incorrect info. > > As far as price, I feel you are way off. 9 lahk rupees ($20,000) is off the wall, though I wouldn't doubt someone is trying to get this for one of these. $1500-2000 is more like it. I had a buyer for one in Haridwar (another Rudraksha dealer who had another customer waiting for one) and found one on my last day in Rishikesh. Could have profited 30,000 rps but I didn't have the time since it was my last day. I didn't have the funds to put down so much for myself. I had already made some super nice purchases of the smallest, nicest chiknas I had ever seen, plus quite a few 14 mukhis, GS beads of 11, and 14-17 mukhis, as well as some with one bead being one face. > > Anyway this is my experience. > > Surya
Guest guest
My chiknas are either 000 or 0000 size. I can't remember. I'm pretty experienced with these and these are by far the smallest I've ever seen in beads that are still nice. I've seen the even smaller fake chikna rudrakshas that aren't even rudrakshas, but that is something else entirely. Not profiting the 30K Rps was not a matter of honor but a matter of being out of time. I have no ethical problem making money in business. The buyer gave me a price he would buy at if I found one and I found one for 30K rps less. Of course 5 mukhis are much more abundent than the rarer higher ones, but that was not the point about the severity of difference in our price quotes. Anyway take care.
