Guest guest
Namaste Rajiv, Thanks for your message. It is what I believe too - that maybe in one decade, only a few beads are found that have 21 mukhi, hence the high prices and coveting by affluent families for progeny, prosperity throught generations, etc.. Like yourself, I've been to Haridwar and a few other places, but that was in 1980. Didn't plan the journey properly so it was flying and catching the train from one end to the other end, then backwards again, and again.., then again...... Spent a lot of time on trains and then "radiation" got the better of me. By time I got to Calcutta, had very high fever but thank Maa Kali, I was looked after by a Chinese family in Tangra. The most memorable train in 1980 was the "Toofan Express" to West Bengal. There was a strike at Calcutta airport in May 1980 so there were no flights from Patna where I was sweating it out.. Nowadays the North is too harsh for old and warped Sy to take the journey so if you visit there again, please tell us your experiences! Would love to hear. THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST BEAD AND IS BOOKED IN ADVANCE BY AFFLUENT INDIAN FAMILIES. PEOPLE OUT HERE IN INDIA ARE WILLING TO SPEND 20,000USD FOR A GENUINE 21 MUKHI BUT STILL THEY DONT GET IT. MAY BE IN A DECADE PEOPLE SAY THAT 4 OR 5 BEADS NORMALLY COMES OUT. > I BEEN TO HARIDWAR PERSONALLY AND HAVE SEEN HOW NICELY FAKE RUDRAKSHA BEADS ARE SOLD OUT THERE TO THE INNOCENT PUBLIC. YOU ARE VERY RIGHT IN TELLING THAT 12 MUKHI AND ABOVE BEADS AT HARIDWAR ARE ALL FAKE. > ONE HAS TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL IN BUYING RUDRAKSHAS. > RAJIV >
