Namaste Barbara,

 

Thanks for sharing your method, yours is a good idea too. (Thanks

also to Alan Scherr for sharing the link to the Siva site for holy

ash.)

 

Just another example : When there is no ash around and I'm in a

hurry: Use either sandalwood paste, sandalwood powder dipped with a

drop of Ganga Jal and wait till my next yagya when offerings consist

amongst other things: hibiscus, a mixture of herbs used also in

Ayurveda and occasionally some semi-precious stones when they are

affordable, etc.etc. It is not the size of the yagya that is

important; it is the devotion and pure intent that matters.

Hi Sy,

 

I have read that one should smear the remnants of the offering to the

Shivalinga on one's body, but I do not think that this is the same as

wearing sacred ash. Both are different. I only used the incense to get some

ash.
