Namaste Jacquie,

Mr. Alan Scherr is great when it comes to Jyotish. When he next

comes online, I'm sure he'll be happy to tell you more.

Meanwhile imvho, why not have both blue sapphire and 14 mukhi :)

That is, if you happen to like both equally much.

Om Namah Shivaya

I own a blue sapphire worth about $2000 which is set in a ring and, also, a

14-mukhi from the Rudra Center. I would buy the 14-mukhi first. Make a head

band for it and wear it on your forehead. You can get a sapphire later. Just

my opinion which isn't worth much.

Dear Jacquie

"A Rudraksa with fourteen faces is the highest Siva. It shall be worn on the

head with great devotion. It quells all sins." page 21

"O boy, if a man always wears on his head or arm, a Rudraksa with fourteen

mouths, the mass of Siva's power, he is always honoured and approached by

gods due to the greatness of his religious merit. " page 31

"A man on wearing fourteen mukhi Rudraksa on his forehead himself becomes

Siva, hence its greatness is indescribable." page 37

"A Rudraksa with fourteen faces is said to have born from the eyes of Lord

Siva. It cures all the diseases and renderrs health and wealth." page 50

"A Rudraksa with fourteen faces is God Srikantha Himself. It gives Moksa

(liberation) to all the kith and kin of past generation and its wearer

himself attains moksa. page 52

"A fourteen mukhi Rudraksa is Srikantha Himself. It renders moksa to all the

members of ones generation." page 54

"Fourteen Mukhi--Its a substitute of seven mukhi. It is held to sublimate

the malefic effects of Saturn." page 61

All of these are quoted from "Rudraksa" by Subas Rai, and the book is

available from the Rudra Center. Mr. Rai was quoting from various sources.

I was wearing the 14 mukhi on my forehead strung on gold-plated wire. I

would pull it down to my neck when I was outside with other people. It is

much better worn only on the forehead at all times if possible. Don't wear

it on your neck. It needs to be worn on the forehead. You won't get the same

effect by wearing it on your neck. If I were you, I would ask Ms. Neeta to

make an adjustable forehead mala for you. Perhaps she can incorporate the

navratna stones into it for you. I had to make my own forehead mala, and I

have not seen any in the displays by Rudra Center. Forehead bands are

out-of-style at the moment, but, no doubt, they will come back sooner or

later. When you wear Rudraksa, people most likely think that you dress in an

ethnic fashion, so you might want to adjust your wardrobe around that idea

(you don't have to, of course).

Regarding sapphire:

"Those who wear Rudraksa along with pearl, coral, quartz, sapphire, silver

and gold, they themselves become Siva." page 42 in "Rudraksa."

You could have a sapphire set in a gold ring as I had. I had two gold rings

melted down and the sapphire set in them. You need to go to a jeweler for

this. I believe that you are to wear the gold ring on your ring finger of

your right hand (the finger next to the baby finger), but I am not sure of

this reference now. I had my ring made so that other stones can be added.

Ask the jeweler about this, because you will need a specific design. I

bought the sapphire in 1994, but I prefer the 14 mukhi rudraksa worn on the

forehead. Having a sapphire is very nice, but, as far as I am aware, it

won't give moksa to you or to your kin of the present and past generations.

I bought my 14 mukhi to guarantee moksa to my deceased mother, because my

mother was an atheist.

Hope this helps you.
