Guest guest
Elaeocarpus grandis : .....Eight microsatellite loci have been isolated and characterised in E. grandis, and transferred successfully to other members of the family Elaeocarpaceae, with five loci producing bands in all species tested. Microsatellite analysis of E. williamsianus has been completed, and revealed more extensive clonality than previously expected. Preliminary testing of E. sp. 'Rocky Creek' and E. grandis showed fairly low levels of within-population diversity. As the analysis of a greater number of populations is being conducted, a number of interesting hypotheses on the evolution of this group of species and their dependence on rainforest refugia are emerging. http://www.scu.edu.au/research/cpcg/sxn4/Res_forestry.php
