Guest guest
Namaste Alanji, Indeed you're spot on about there being many traditions not limited to the Vedic/Tantric regarding parad. Thanks for mentioning Petri Murien and for the excellent info on Mercury Oils. its grrrreat! He used to be around a lot but has somehow left the scene. Haven't been able to find him either. Agree that most on the market are part mercury and part silver. While I do not know how Tamil Siddhars make mercury items, would like to mention that there are remote places where they make for example Kali Maa murtis with herbs, ash, etc. and solidify with panchdhatu (five metals), silver and in some cases mercury. Shall try to find out more later. A pal obtained one such Kali murti but is still traveling around the remote South so I don't get to hear often. Apparently he'd witnessed one of the rituals but was not allowed to see further just like foreigner are not allowed into some temples in India. In my case, the parad worn on the body has changed to a sky blue kinda color. An excerpt below from Rudra Centre's website regarding color. Regardless of what some dear friends cautioned me about the toxicity of mercury (two being mainstream doctors), I found that the mercury amalgams of the old days in tooth fillings as a green kid, were killing me faster than anything else. Since these fillings dropped off, life was great. Wearing parad as I have done for quite some time as an adult, there has not been any occurence of the problems I had as a kid with mercury tooth fillings nor any adult ailments other than high blood pressure which in my case, is genetic. Agree that mercury is highly toxic and have no logical explanation regarding the parad not affecting my system adversely, contrary to what the doctors say. Of course I get health checks once in blue moon to make sure Brief Article from Rudra Centre: ------------------------------- "In general the body of each person is constituted of one specific matter like sky, air, fire, water, earth according to their planetary birth-time. The other four types of matter remain as complementary elements in the same body. In order to know this particular element, the Mercury ball should be hung in the neck. When the ball becomes dirty with the perspiration of physical body, it changes its colour like blue, violet, red, white, or green according to the above mentioned five principal matters. This colour will indicate his particular Tattva or matter in the body. This experience can be gained only when body is perspiring during summer season."
