Guest guest
Namaste Tersam, Would like to mention some past experiences with people selling rudraksha in Nepal: 1) Personally I have no problems with anyone or any independent rudraksha sadhaka (adept) who sells rudraksha; 2) It is good that rudraksha sadhakas are doing dharma and seva out of bhakti (devotion) to Lord Shiva/Rudra by disseminating knowledge of the sacred "Tears of Lord Shiva" to others, thus benefiting them as children of God, as is the birthright of those who come across or can get genuine rudraksha; 3) Scriptures say that "Those who have the instinct to wear or use rudraksha (and find genuine beads) are due to having received the blessings of Lord Shiva from preceeding births" (this is a rough translation into English from the Sanskrit); 4) In my experience while living and traveling around Nepal from Kathmandu, Swayabunath, Pokhara, Pashupatinath and beyond to the base of Mount Everest (as a result of Kali's and Shiva's calling), many tourist areas were touting fake beads, even outside temples; 5) Some of these places and temples, and in Kathmandu itself as well as around the Kali Temple where they still do live sacrifices of animals and Tibetan Temple in Swayabunath, and Pashupatinath, there were many fake beads being sold; 6) Many of the peddlers had no idea that they were selling fake beads as they received supplies from different sources and they themselves are not rudraksha sadhakas, hence they could not tell the difference between fake and genuine. It is not their fault; 7) Some sources sold or sell genuine beads mixed with fake beads. Many sell inferior grade beads too. 8) They also sell inferior Badraksha and Indraksha that do not contain the same natural, powerful electromagnetic, para-magnetic and biochemical properties of Genuine Rudraksha. 9) All this is not noticeable to the untrained eye and not detectable by innocent people; 10) Through my Nepali friend and interpreter at my side, it was learnt that some sellers in Nepal got their beads from a Mr. Suresh Basnet who claims he comes from a few generations of rudraksha farmers and growers, mentioning his grandfather as pioneer, etc.etc. Of course different people told different stories about the history and authenticity of all this. 11) Many simply sounded like "Hard Sell Sales Pitches"; Tersam, sorry to have to tell you this. I sincerely hope your source is a genuine one that supplies you with good quality beads. Tersam, are you a rudraksha sadhaka? If yes, then it will be nice if you would share knowledge and experiences with us too.
