Guest guest
Namaste Sri DDji and Beloved Friends including Llundrub, Cannot resist chirping in on this one ))))) Sri DDji, magnificent response and well said, thank you!!!!! Indeed modern India has gradually seen the decline of wearing topknots. By the Way ---------- Rotflol.....!!!!!!!! Lol...!!!!!! Having the best giggle of the year so far, at this -- bless your sense of humor, what a scream! : """""'' lastly people can find the beads they need for free if they walk to the arun valley below mount everest and pick them themselves from areas that are not owned by the collector families...........and if they eat from the forest and drink from the streams that are not polluted they can do all this for free """""""""" ** Whoever hasn't ever been to Nepal, who nowadays wishes to go there, has to spend money on plane ticket and land in Kathmandu. Next they have to hire guides from trekking companies that charge big bucks (some do). Or they can try learn a crash course in Nepali lingo (pay for this too) and privately find a guide willing to take them who also charges a fee. Its a very, very, very long......... walk to Arun Valley. The person may have to pay money for bus if there is one available whose driver has magic current connections to get past the Maoists. Alternatively, a truck may do, but the driver also needs to get past the Maoists and wants his money for his time and efforts. Risky though becos he may well drop you off at some remote place and tell you that "you've arrived in Arun Valley" ) Or if you happen to look like the flavor of the day to some Maoist bloke, try see if you can get past him and his cronies in one piece or indeed alive with all belongings untouched. Depending on the season, one needs to buy thermal gear and other relevant clothing if you are not used to icy conditions of the Himalayas. Before hopping on the flight to Kathmandu, some may need to consider the possibiliy of high altitude sickness and buy appropriate medicines to take in the luggage. Eating free fruits from Himalayan forests depends on whether the person's stomach can deal with it, i.e. if strictly a seasoned fruitarian, sure no problems with the runnies There are more conditions to take into consideration for someone wishing to venture into the Arun Valley but if all of the above prerequisites are met, then it will be a nice start. After tasting the free fruits and picking free rudrakshas for yourself, then heartiest congratulations!!!!!!! You will be in Nirvana or Kailash, whichever one prefers. Guest guest
Dear Miss Simone Thanks for your reply...........and all the historical data on traverseing Nepal.....I looked up Nepal on internet once or twice and they have crocodiles in the streams in the lowlands there and if I remember correctly they also have rhinocerous and every infectious disease known to man and maybe a few more......however if a person is determined to go for a walkabout or foot journey from the Chinese side of the Himalayas they may have an easier go of it..........In India a person would walk from the Bay of Bengal to the northern most town of northern bengal and then if bengal tiger did not make meal of them on way to foothills am sure they could get to arun valley in couple of months.............just be sure to camp before 4 PM in the afternoon as this is when elephants in the area begin their age old tradition of jumping out of trees.........in the 1800s the Englishmen would never believe this and they lost a lot of people.........soldiers exploreing India would always be hearing great thumps in the forest in late afternoon and would come up missing after they left camp in the late afternoon to investigate......when Indian People told them the sounds were elephants jumping from trees they would not believe them and went into forest to see for themselves......Englishmen finally figured out what was going on when they found a herd of elephants early one morning and elephants had all kinds of white stuff squeezed between elephants toes....really sad for them however they finally figured out they couldnt conduct a proper conquering of a nation if all their solders were ending up as victims of elephants jumping out of trees and landing on them so they finally left India.........They were a great bother to the US of A about the same time so we threw all their tea in the ocean and they had to leave here to becasue they cannot survive without thier tea have you heard the one about Elephant and ant where they both went to town and were seperated due to different errands each one had to do............Elephant finished errands first and went to look for ant and had a great problem on how to find him.........finally he was successfully rewarded and found ant in temple........Ant asked him how did you find me and Elephants reply was.........why of course your six shoes are outside temple door So now we have some authentic history and a little humor on this good day Take Care DharmaDev In a message dated 5/1/2005 4:46:10 AM Pacific Standard Time, syzenith writes: > > > Namaste Sri DDji and Beloved Friends including Llundrub, > > Cannot resist chirping in on this one ))))) > > Sri DDji, magnificent response and well said, thank you!!!!! > > Indeed modern India has gradually seen the decline of wearing > topknots. > > By the Way > ---------- > Rotflol.....!!!!!!!!
