A person in your situation might look into buying the book Healing Mantras by

Thomas Ashley Farrand on Amazon.com............this book teaches Sanskrit by

the process of phonetics......meaning if you know the english language then

this book shows you how to sound out the vowels and consonants of Devanagari or

Sanskritam Languange......there are also a few tapes you can buy to make sure

you are doing them correctly...........then to follow up on this find the

American Sanskrit Institute online and buy their work book and tapes and learn

to read and tone the Sanskrit Alphabet..........is really easy to learn

Sanskrit as the Rules for Pronounciation and alphabet letter combination

reminds one of a language based on numerics instead of simple memorizeing an

alphabet.........In Sanskrit every letter and combination of letters follows

the next in perfect order as in a numerical sequence

hope this helps

there are different mantras associated with different mukhi rudraksha's...

If a person who does not know sanskrit and when he/she is reciting a specific

mantra(following its english>hindi translation or viceversa) how does one make

sure that he/she is correctly Pronouncing/reciting/vibrating/spelling/humming

that specific mantra and every word in it..here I am refering to a situation in

which a guru is not around at that point of time.
