Effectiveness won't change. 8 mukhi represents Lord Ganesha n all his 108 forms n names. Of course assist eradicate obstacles if u have sincere devotion. Why not chant 108 names of Lord Ganesha everyday? Gives 108 times "insurance" if u like. How u look at life will determine whether something is obstacle, challenge, stepping stone or stumbling block. Up to u. Decide for yrself.
