The next lecture on Sri Ramayana Tanislokam would be held on 30th april

Sunday 7.30 pm IST.

 

We continue with the good counselling of Sita to Ravana

 

mitramoupayikam kartum rAma: stAnam parIpsata

vadham ca aniscitA ghOram tvayAsou purusharshabha:

 

"O Ravana ! Make friendship with Rama, the supreme being, if you want to

survive and avoid a cruel death"

 

Sita continues to advice with another sloka "iha santO na vAsanti ..." in

vain. Ravana fixes a deadline for Sita to yield and leaves. Hanuman appears

before Sita with caution. Their conversation is beyond words. Sita shares

the story of kAkAsura with Hanuman as an evidence.

 

sa pitrA ca parityakta: suraisca sa maharishibhi:

trIn lOkAn samparikramya tamEva saraNam gata:

 

kAkAsura wandered around the three worlds seeking asylum, abandoned even by

his parents, devas and rishis, he returned and surrendered to the lotus feet

of Rama.
