Guest guest
Dear Abhishek, Sat Nam! Knowing yourself! Yes that's the key! Practice Kundalini Yoga as that will help clear what is not you and strengthen what is you. Meditate on who you want to be and how you want to behave in this world and whenever you observe that you are not who you want to be and you are not behaving how you want to behave, notice it and let yourself know that that is not you. Meditate and, whichever thought or emotion come, know that that isn't you. Because who you are is never temporary. If you love something in the past, that is memory; if you love something in the future, that is fantasy; the only love is in the moment, that is the only place where you have power. (That's a paraphrase from The Buddha). In practice, one starts knowing oneself by noticing what we rebel against, by noticing our tastes in foods and in people. So write about your experience with this to see where you are coming from and notice patterns about your life. We need to learn to ask for what we want. We may become vegetarian for the sole purpose of letting people know that we don't eat meat anymore so when they prepare a meal for us they know what to do. This may be difficult initially if we are not used to ask for what we want. Taste in people: who is supportive of us, who is not. What dreams do you have? Who around you supports you in those dreams. Who does not let you down? Who reminds you and makes you accountable for what you said you would do. So: make a list of your dreams and create a support group of people of your choice around you, because without that support group, without a loving community, we can't grow into who we are.
