This is something that I have always wondered? Bhishma, Drona, and Kripa had to fight, but wasn't Vidur a part of Hastinapur?

Actually, if Vidura was to fight, he had to fight against the Pandawas like what Drona and others did, but Sri Krishna made plans to ensure Vidura doesn't anticipated.

When Sri Krishna came as messanger of peace to the Kauravas in behalf of Pandawas, He decline to stay with any of the guest houses which Kauravas had prepared and He didn't stay with either Drona, Bhisma or anyone else. What He did was, He went and stay with Vidura in his measly looking house. This upset the Kauravas.

So, when battle about to begin, what Kauravas did was insult Vidura as being traitor and a low-caste (different story, I forgot the detail) and Vidura broke the Bow which Lord Shiva gave him and vowed that he will not fight for Kauravas in the upcoming battle.

So, all this was part of Sri Krishna's plan.

Thanks for the response. Was the part where Vidur was insulted and he broke the bow a part of the movies that Ravi Choppra made?

I just finished watching them again, and I do not recall watching that part.

You want to learn about Hindusm through movies? :eek4:

I got my information by reading Mahabratha Epic which a friend of mine (Hindu also) borrow to me a few years back.

Basically, I have no idea what they stated in Tamil movies, but I did watch old Tamil black and white movies like Abimanyu which was very interesting.
