Hi Diana,

I used to live in and teach Ashtanga in Saitama City (Omiya, Urawa,

and Yono combined).

A core group of my former students still practice together regularly

there - but without a teacher.

I can put you in touch with someone from the group - how's your Nihongo?

There was a HUGE ashtanga boom in Japan recently and an army of

teachers have been sent out

over the land and you can find many ashtanga classes at local gyms

and such.

As for Ashtanga studios and senior teachers to study with - they're

in Tokyo:

Tarik is in Shibuya, www.tarik.com

Chama in Shibuya, can't remember the web address from the top of my

head,

and Ken (authorized) and Basia in Ogikubo, www.iyc.jp or www.ashtanga.jp

They are the 3 main teachers - meaning that they are long term.

There are also classes at YogaJaya and I think Kranti is still

teaching there now.

Feel free to mail me privately for more detailed info or Urawa life!

I'm so excited for you! I miss

Japan a lot.

mata ne,

amanda
