Guest guest
Even chanting a single syllable with devotion works............mantra has to be felt........ For example, I think one clear recitation of the Gyatri (Savitri) == n number of parrot recitations. Guest guest
I have a few insights where 'parroting' seems to be fortuitous. 1. I have a couple parrots and sometimes I chant mantras for them. They seem to like it. 2. The Divine is everything so why does one have to concentrate upon one aspect of it over another? Seems discriminatory to me. 3. There's at least five ways to chant that I know of off the top of my head, some under breath, some where one follows the melody, some with visualizations, some without, some where the mantra is a form of pranayam. 4. Mantra recited without goal is greater than mantra recited with goal. Just like romance for its own sake is more romantic than romance for the purpose of gaining a few bucks. My question is - does parroting common answers show greater or lesser insight? And why does one have to oversimplify things in general when worship is as diverse as the people who do it? Honestly, I have never gained benefit more than the benefit of being able to place my head upon Shakti's lap and have my mind cleared. That's the benefit. Thank You Ma. Yep, leave it to the pundits to parrot the learned. - Vir Rawlley Monday, May 01, 2006 2:56 AM ] Re: Want to believe but how ... After reading all this, I like to ask one question: what is the purpose of your sadhana? What is the real intent in performing all this sadhana. YOu all talk abt destinations and goals? Is that the real intent of your sadhana. As I personally belief, goal will always be there if your process is correct. I guess a lot of people fails and feel dissolution because they pay too much attention to goals and destinations. Process is the transformation of the self, and the first step as belief. ------------------------
