Guest guest
Sat Nam Gururattana, I enjoy reading your responses on the big list. I was curious about the statment, ".....then your energy can be used wisely and you won't get in the way of someone who still has some suffering to do."(by blessing those who "aren't ready" for yoga or the teachings). Do you think some individuals are predestined to suffer in this lifetime for a given amount of time? It would seem that one might be able to do some sort of spiritual intervention for someone who is suffering....thereby shortening the intensity/duration of their pain. What do you think....or feel about this ?? Does anyone else have some thoughts on this? Blessings to you. Guest guest
Dear Abinashi, Sat Nam! the statment, ".....then your energy can be used wisely and you won't get in the way of someone who still has some suffering to do."(by blessing those who "aren't ready" for yoga or the teachings). > Do you think some individuals are predestined to suffer in this lifetime > for a given amount of time? * My view comes from observation. Some people are ready for somethings and some are not. Everyone has a different path and sequence as well. The more I see this, the more I just observe it and let it be exactly the way it is. A major cause of suffering is lack of consciousness. This doesn't mean that we are predestined to suffer. But the less conscious we are, the more we tend to create problems for ourselves and thus the more we "suffer." > It would seem that one might be able to do some sort of spiritual > intervention for someone who is suffering....thereby shortening the > intensity/duration of their pain. * Can we make people more conscious? No. We can offer them the opportunity to work on themselves, but we cannot change their consciousness. Transformation of consciousness is a personal affair done in our own psyche. * Blessing, instead of judging, people gives them light instead of darkness. Being a light and an example ourselves also serves others. Offering opportunities to change and grow is also a great service. Simply being kind is a powerful way to help others. How many times have we each been hurt because someone was not kind? But what I observe is that what we might want to do for another is often an interference. We each have to learn in our own way. And to respect this fact actually gives people the space to learn so that they can become more conscious. Guest guest
Sat Nam Abinashi, even our suffering can be a lesson,if only in giving up suffering! If someone chooses to suffer that is their choice to make. Who knows what pearl may be forming around their irritation? Who are we to take away the kernel of a pearl of wisdom someone may be nurturing? It has been said by many saints that suffering is the short road to enlightenment, out of great suffering great compassion can emerge. Though, of course, one can suffer without ever growing a pearl or learning compassion. If we, and specifically our ego, are attached to our suffering the pearl will never see the light and compassion will be overcome by self-pity and martyred self-rightiousness. Not loving ourselves is not a form of modesty, it is merely not loving ourselves and, by extension, not loving all that is. This sense of separation will naturally cause great suffering. My experience is that "interventions" don't work. For true change to occur people must bring themselves to it willingly. Otherwise you're just trying to impose your will on another rather than look after your own evolution.Save yourself and you will save the world around you. Become a person of peace and people will come to you to learn peace. Love yourself and you allow others around you to love themselves. It really is that simple. blessings ovasoul Kundalini Yoga, Books, Videos and DVDs on Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Mantra CDs Terms of Service.
