Guest guest
It is said that Tripura was governed by Vaisnava monarchs for over 300 years, since when an incumbent king, being inspired by a preacher-disciple of Narottama dasa Thakura, had taken to Lord Caitanya's sankirtana movement. What was the preacher's name? Can anyone suggest a forum where such philosophical queries are discussed? ------------------------
Kulapavana
most likely it was Srila Ganga Narayana Chakravarti "King Bhagyachandra was an ardent follower of Srila Narottama Das Thakur, an exponent of GaudiyaVaisnavism. He was initiated by Srila Ganga Narayana Chakravarti, a disciple of Srila Narottama Das Thakur, who visited Manipur to spread the Bhagavata Culture. In 1798, after ruling for 39 years, King Bhagyachandra decided to retire from political life. With his sons, several queens and several hundred associates, he left the kingdom for a pilgrimage to Murshidabad (West Bengal), the birthplace of Srila Narottama Das Thakur." http://www.utahkrishnas.com/main/page.asp?id=
