Guest guest
There is a school of thought that cows were sacrificed in vedic rituals and promoted in to higher beings. And that this practice was transformed by Adi Sankara to suit the modern times. He is credited with introducing the practice of slaughtering animals made of pulses and grains during vedic sacrifices. The bhagavatha school is said to have been always favouring vegetarianism over animal sacrifices. I would like to know if some one has a good compiled authentic set of pramanas on cow protection from sruti and smrti sastras. This is required for a cow-protection campaign. In addition, if some has good articles on "Economics of protecting elderly cows and oxen" and "Advantages of Mechanized Cow Farming", that will be useful. For the latter, if there is a good counter nothing like it. ------------------------
