Beloved Shree Ma & Swami,

Namaste! I was wanting specific remedies or rituals for dealing

with negative thoughts quickly. Can you all help me here, please?

The mantra SATYAM SIVAM SUNDARUM has had partial success. Actually, I

haven't used it much, but only some. I intend to discover a mantra,

technique or remedy that will GET RID OF NEGATIVE THINKING for GOOD

and use it. Perhaps something that would transmute these negative

thoughts instantly OR give them to the Beloved Earth where she would

feed off of them & transmute them Lovingly for us all. Peace &

Blessings to All associted with Beloved group. Om Namah

Shivaya!

Light,

Mikael

Namaste Mikael,

I will forward your question to Swamiji but here is my understanding

based from my experience

Regular sadhana changes one's outlook . It completely changes the way we

interact with the world. From "how can I get something out of this

situation" to "how can I be of help?"

I have seen the way my thoughts change from when I do sadhana to when I

stop doing sadhana. So the trick , I believe, is to keep doing sadhana.

The sadhana that I have most beneficial to me is chanting the Chandi

Path. Swamiji has said that Chandi is "She who tears apart thought",

and so it could be a practice that you might want to look into further.

Please do post if you have further questions .

In the "Guru and the Goddess text by swamiji there is a section starting on p. 40 in the

Kashyapa Suutra section which talks about techniques to get control of your emotions:

"If you can identify the emotion, you can repeat the biija mantra that corresponds to

that emotion. In this way you will get controll of that emotion.

Then you can recite the mantra of the attitude that you want to replace the emotion

with..."

It then explains that it is done two different ways:

One Mala (108 repetitions)of the biija mantra of the negative emotion followed by

one mala of the biija mantra of the positive.

In the second technique the negative and positive Biija mantras are combined.

example 1: One mala Biija mantra Bhraam(Confusion) followed by a mala of shaam(Peace).

example 2: At least one mala of Bhraam Shaam, watching confusion transform into peace.

There is an extensive list of negative/positive biijas in this text that might apply more

acurately to your circumstance.

On page 45:

"Another important technique for attaining self-control is to recite the biija mantra

of the cakra from which a negative emotion emanates. You will want to produce a

vibration that is stronger then the vibration that is confronting you. That is the

objective."

Vanakam Mikael,

In my experience a quick remedy for dealing with negative thoughts is focus. Focus your self by meditating, chanting or even listening to devotional songs or music. That's it. When your mind is focused in such things, automaticly you will feel some positive energies in you. I feel it in form of believe in god and me. I believe 'he' won't let me down; won't ignore me. So, i believe 'him', believe me and then anything that-s negative will vanish just like that. Try your self.

  • 3 years later...

sincere sadhana helps in concentration and taper off bad/negative thoughts.I believe, 'fear' or 'lack of confidance' are some of the factors leading to 'negative thoughts'.

Along with 'sadhana' one should be 'true' to him/her self - and should try to keep away from 'anger' / greed / ill thoughts for other.

With all these, the efficiency og mind would be maximum which then offers many alternatives to 'problems'.
