Parroting "slowly" requires control = focus = intent = sure it works :-)

Slowly being the key .......

My 2 cents

There are many learned people in this forum, so I pose the question and give my answer. May wiser ones enlighten me/us further.

Q - Does parrot-chanting of mantras give any benefit ?

A - No

Qualify Answer

Devotion to the Diety, Understanding the meaning of the Mantra (visualising) and Knowing what results to expect (intention), I believe must combine = CLARITY.

For example, I think one clear recitation of the Gyatri (Savitri) = n number of parrot recitations.

In parrot recitations, the mind wanders, so there is no point of focus to pierce through to a result.

I remember Sriramadongre you posted the following sometime back:

Mantra has no power !, I have chanted 1000 names of Lalita at least

1000 times. No benefits.

After reading all this, I like to ask one question: what is the

purpose of your sadhana? What is the real intent in performing all

this sadhana.

YOu all talk abt destinations and goals? Is that the real intent of

your sadhana. As I personally belief, goal will always be there if

your process is correct. I guess a lot of people fails and feel

dissolution because they pay too much attention to goals and

destinations. Process is the transformation of the self, and the

first step as belief.
