prAnadhAtri : Nourisher of senses.

 

The vivifier of all the universe.

 

PrAna, the eleven senses [including mind]. In the passage of the

Sruti, "All the prAnas follow the PrAna when it goes out." prana is

explained to mean the senses. The same explanation is given also in

the Ved-sUtra {II. 4.5] : "The prAnas are seven, on account of this

being understood from scriptural passages and of the specification of

those seven".
