Guest guest
Hari Om Tat Sat ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Namaste Satyakama, I thought to add this one subject to round out the discussion. With wake, dream and sleep , there also is a 4th part. It is aligned to OM, known as AUM. This is a little esoteric, so pls stick with me to the end... where Atmara or without measure comes in and gives insight to the 4th part. A - , the first part, the condition of waking, the first. Its known that 'A' is the whole of speech. Sri Krsna says 'Aksharanam Akarosmi' of the letters 'A' I Am. Of this A, is also Vaishvanara, who pervades this whole universe. The Mandukyopanishad says he who knows this obtains all desires and becomes first. U - the second part, the condition of dream. This 'U' resides in the middle of A and M. Of this U is Taijasa, He enjoys the subtle dream world. They say he who knows this becomes great in knowledge and the equal of all. M - is last and its sphere is deep sleep. This is where A and U pour into it. This is Prajana. He who knows this is able to comprehend all within himself. That is, wake and dream ( Visva and Taijasa) merge into deep sleep. Turiya or 4th part - this is without parts. That which has no parts is amatra, without measure. This is pure consciousness , Atman. In the forth, the knower inters into the SELF by means of the SELF. That is, AUM rests in the 4th, amatra, SELF, Atman. So even in wake dream and sleep, we have the substratum of pure consciousness as the foundation of Being, as foundation of existence. They say [Mandukyopanishad] he who knows this merges his self into the SELF. pranams, yajvan Discussion of Shankara's Advaita Vedanta Philosophy of nonseparablity of Atman and Brahman.
