Guest guest
H.N.Sreenivasa Murthy Dear Sri "Yajvan", In your posting on 2nd May, 2006 you have written:: "In Turiya, one is Full awareess of the asece of the duality, while in deep sleep one is UNAWARE of the presence of duality". What exactly you mean by that statement "While in deep sleep one is unaware of the presence of duality? Do you mean that there is duality in deep sleep but one is unaware of it? You please study the Mantras 4-3-19 to 4-3-32 of the Brihadaranyaka upanishad and also please study the commentary of Sri Shankara on those mantras. Please study the mantras pertaining to deep sleep from the ten main Upanishads also.and study the commentary of Sri Shankara there on. I regret to say that The statement of yours goes against Sruti and Sri Shankara's commentary. And also it is against Anubhava. If I have erred you please correct me. Guest guest
Namaste Sri Srinivasa Murthy, I am not intending on responding for Yajvan, but one thing could not come by me unperceived: why do you salute him with " " in his name? Why do you write "Yajvan"? Is it a common usage special salutation among Brahmins or Hindus to use the " " sign? I ask this because in the West , especially where I live, if you write to someone saluting him/her with " " sign in his/her name, that is considered an offense. Are you trying to offend Yajvan? Why so? Furthermore I think you may be well-read in Sruti´s , but if you lack viveka you should practice viveka also, while you ask others to read mantra´s and commentaries on Sruti´s. kind regards, frederico advaitin, sreenivasa murthy <narayana145> wrote: > > H.N.Sreenivasa Murthy > > Dear Sri "Yajvan", > In your posting on 2nd May, 2006 you have written:: > "In Turiya, one is Full awareess of the asece of the duality, while in deep sleep one is UNAWARE of the presence of duality". > What exactly you mean by that statement "While in deep sleep one is unaware of the presence of duality? Guest guest
Hari Om ~~~~~~~ Namaskar Srinivasa Murthy and frederico First and foremost, our intent is to share wisdom and knowledge in a friendly atmosphere. It is here were we can let our thoughts and questions (and perhaps doubts) be written. Dear Srinivasa Murthy , if you have better knowledge then I submit to you, please do share it with us all. I read the Upanishads daily, but that does not infer total comprehension, please do share your insights. And, with the rishi's of the Upanishads, their wisdom speaks to different levels of consciousness and comprehension. My time as of late is with the Upanishads. These bring delight and insight as I read them over and over again. If I can improve my ability to know these with your guidance, I leave my ego at the door...it is of no use for one on this path. My goal is to remove all the knots in the heart. Dear frederico, you are a blessed individual... For HE has given you the ability to recall some of your past (which is, in reality, really Now). This comes with greater purity and tapas. May this blossom for you in this life. I am grateful for your kind support and you have spoken as one of the Pandava clan in helping a friend! re: Turiya - yes, this is not a state, nor is it a 4th part. Some say it is amatra of Omkara, Atman, Brahman. It is the substratum for all other states. Of this there is no doubt. Perhaps at a later date I will answer Srinivasa Murthy's question regarding sleep and the difference between Fullness ( Bhuma) and that of sleep's experiences and coming back to waking. Much has to do with the 5 koshas but will leave for a later date. Waking and dream depend on sleep state, which is nicely explained in the Mandukyopanishad. I wish you well.
