Guest guest
Jay Guru Smashan does not mean where dead bodies are burnt , in allegorical meaning it means a place of land where ppl usually does not go . That term originates in literature from the village scenario. As in village very few ppl come to that place even once a week . If you go to any smashan in the city it is filled with ppl . Because those Sadhana's are lonely it is adviced to go to a silent place where you don't come accross a second face . Any place on hill top , river side , lonley place surrounded with trees are okay . Some times even empty room is allowed , but it should not be a grihast room . You have to carry some branches of 10 trees to make dik-bandh like peepal tree etc , banyan tree etc as thats not your vastu . Distant shiva temple is also fine as suggested - the whole focus is you should be alone . In fact its best to go to a distant and lonely shiv temple as in that case many other side by rituals can be avoided because of sthan mahatmya and as said , shiv is the witness to all what you did , so you will get the right blesing for your work . Even ppl those who go to cemetry does make a shiva linga with the clay from there and then keep shiv as witness. For more allegorical meaning let me just hint you by saying smashan is a place inside the body , can you say where ? Your home work !!
