Dear All,

In chapter 70 of Sri Garuda Purana there is a statement about clean

rubies which translates as, "The potency of a high-quality ruby is such

that even an ignorant person living a sinful life and surrounded by

deadly enemies is saved by wearing such a gem. Anyone wearing such a

naturally effulgent ruby would be freed from diseases caused by any

imbalance of the bodily functions."

---This bona fide information clearly indicates that natural sacred

objects do NOT require any pran-pratistha to be powerful. That is what

makes "natural" sacred objects different from "man-made" sacred

objects, like a painting or a Sri Murti, which are powerless until

after Pran-pratistha is completed successfully. Sacred Objects are

ALREADY powerful, like Shalagram Shila, Ruby, or Lakshmi Conch, etc.

And it is OUR karma, not theirs, to get them.

Of course we MUST show them due respect, still they do not depend on us

to be powerful, NOT do the sacred objects have their own karma. Only a

Jiva or living soul in sada-samsara can have karma. Inanimate objects

have no karma. Karma belongs to "life" not matter.

This is clear in ALL Sampradayas and siddhantas (except Charvak-muni,

the great materialist). You see, matter cannot have karma, because

matter is always dead, even though permiated by the "jivatma", who DOES

have the karma.

Best rgds,

Richard
