Avinash
It is written in Bhagavatam that Visnu in the form of a fish appeared to king Satyavrata (current Manu). When I read it I first thought that Matsya incarnation happened at the end of 6th Manu. But when I read again, I found that it happened at the end of the previous kalpa of Brahma. But the end of the 6th Manu is not the same as the end of previous kalpa. So, when did Matsya incarnation really take place? Could it be that it took place at the end of the previous kalpa (i.e. day of Brahma); King Satyavrata was not Manu then, he was reborn later as 7th Manu? Or, is there some other explanation? Guest guest
I recently watched a dramatization of this incarnation with fascination in the Shri Krishna TV Serial. As I watched, I was amazed how much this sounded like the Noah's ark myth. I wonder if the Noahic flood legend started from this from this incarnation?
