Guest guest
LOSING EVEN THE LOWEST LIFE The Atman seeks removal from distress. The desire to get away from bondage of births is natural. Does it stop there? As one knows, The soul is full of knowledge and capable of enjoying pleasures. That, this will lead to enjoying itself on release of bondage, should indeed make oneself apparently happy. What more can one ask for? Release from cycle of briths /the grief genetic samsara/the troublesome earthly connections. Added to this enjoyment of the atman by oneself eternally. Perhaps, the ultimate. What does AzvAr declare in this regard? A person wanted to wear a big ear-ring. To accomodate the ear ring, he started piercing the ear-lobe. Not enough, he went on piercing the hole and finally the hole was whole enough to make the big ear ring fit in, but alas! the ear starting losing the elasticity and started loosely hanging, making it utterly impossible to stand hitherto, why adorn with ornaments. Similarly, here the atman indeed wants to get away from the samsara and attain perennial mirth. What happens, the nexus with the LOrd is completely obliterated, even the smallest of happiness in the samsara is lost. This is svami Nam-AzvAr '.kADhu seivAn -kUdhai seidhu kaDai muRai vAzhkaiyum pOm' ThiruvAiMozhi 9-1-9; izhakkum ithanai" 'ellAvaRRilum mEarpaTTa purushArthamanROA samsAriga dhukka nivrutha rUpa kaivalyamenRu athai purushArtham enRu paRRil,...paNDuLLa samsAriga sugamum =ARAyirappaDi.
