Guest guest
Wow! How nice to be back 'home' after a month long trip to India. After travelling through 'time' zones Delhi, (India,) Amesterdam, (Holland (Europe)) and Washington, DC, (North America), i am still wondering if there is any difference betwwen the three states of Waking, Dream and Deep sleep! No pun, intennded, either! BTW, i do not claim to be a Jnani either , just a jignasu! Smile, again! It is always nice to see a glowing tribute being paid to the Sun God on the group page- for Jnana ( knowledge of the self) and the Light of the Sun destroy darkness or ignorance! These lines bring a warm glow to my heart: ~nAnena tu tadaj~nAnaM yeShAM nAshitamAtmanaH . teShAmAdityavajj~nAnaM prakAshayati tatparam.h .. Gita 5:16.. "..for those in whom ignorance is destroyed by the wisdom of the Self, for them wisdom lights up the supreme Self like the Sun Thank you , dear moderators, for such timely reminders. In this context, i would like to recall verse 21 from Aditya Hridayam composed by Sage Agastya in the presence of Lord Sri Rama before Sri Rama commences his epic battle with Demon Ravana Tapta camee karabhaya haraye Visvakar mane | Namastamo bhinighnaya rucaye lokasakshine || Salutations to you, possessor of the lustre of refined gold, destoryer of ignorance, the architect of the universe. Salutations to the destroyer of darkness, Splendour incarnate; the witness of the world. The sun God also known as 'Savitur' in the Gayatri Mantra is the most worshippable of all gods . Whikle i was in Bombay , a friend introduced me to 'Surya' yoga and advised me that a regular worshipping of the early morning Sun ( this is a technique meditating on the Golden Rays of the early morning sun ) benefits 'diabetic' patients by working on the thyroid and para thyroid glands - She also infor, med me that Such a blissful union with the 'Sun' god works at all levels both on materialistic and spiritual planes ! On another note , a lot of discussion is going on between Jnana and Jnani in some of the posts but really speaking where is the divinding line ? The Jnana, Jnata, and Jneyam is all 'One' , Would YOU NOT AGREE,my fellow advaitins ? It is nice to see our beloved Sankaramanji staging quite a comeback with some of his posts - i specially liked his post on 'maharaj-ji' - Many flowers are blooming in this Advaitin Garden - some seasonal , some perennial . some fresh, some old, but all delightfully fragrant at the same time , - i am also enjoying Subbuji's continued presence in this list with his knowledgeble and devotional posts. So, how can the Sun ever set on the 'advaitin' list ? For the 'Sun' is none other than GREATEST 'Son' BHARATA MATA has ever produced - Shri shri Adi shankara Bhagvadapada , East's greatest gift to to the western world ? Jaya Jaya Shankara ! Hara Hara Shankara ! Om namo Bhagvate PRABHAKARAYA!
