Guest guest
Hi, This is called the Survya Bhedi Pranayma. Surya of course is Sun. This enhances the solar energy basically. Please Google for more details. Cheers Azaad Hello all, There is an alternate nostril breath technique in the anger set found in Relax and Renew in which you are instructed to block alternate nostrils, inhaling always thru the right, and exhaling thru the left nostril. Could anyone explain why it is done this way (ie. not the other way around) and its benefits? Thanks. Guest guest
Sat Nam, The breath is pulled through the right nostril, which energizes and then is released through the left, which relaxes. This allows the fire energy to calm down. THe best thing is to feel the effects as you do the exercise. It is an interesting combination which has the effect of channeling anger energy into ----. Do it and be present to your own experience. Sat Nam, Gururattana Kundalini Yoga, Books, Videos and DVDs on Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Mantra CDs Terms of Service. Guest guest
Sat Nam All: In doing the alternate breathing thru the nose technique, I received a huge surprise. I found that I get a deeper, healthier breath than breathing through both nostrils. It gave me some relief I did not expect ......relief of some severity in the pain I have had in my left low back from a recent accident! Made me wonder if I am holding something other than pain there, such as anger??? Teresa Kundalini Yoga, Books, Videos and DVDs on Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Mantra CDs Terms of Service. Guest guest
Sat Nam Teresa, only you can know if you are holding anger in your lower back that is causing you pain and it's always worth investigating and getting to know our feelings One other thing to consider is that often when we injure ourselves we attempt to "protect" the injured area by tensing up...what this does in cases of chronic pain is increase and create more pain. The pain you're feeling may be a result of tension rather than the initial wounding (or due to tension as well as the original wound) so then when you relax the pain would diminish. You can also try experimenting with this to see what effect tension and relaxation have on the pain in that particularl area. blessings on your journey ovasoul Kundalini Yoga, Books, Videos and DVDs on Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Mantra CDs Terms of Service. Guest guest
SAT NAM OVASOUL The pain could be a combo of both tension caused by the fear of the pain. I am watching this to see what happens. I have old anger issues that come up occasionally. What a mess we get ourselves into! I have read many of your very wise words and many have helped me. Blessings and Peace to you and healing to all of us Teresa

Guest guest
Sat Nam Teresa, it's pretty hard to be human without having had or having some anger. Anger serves a very good purposes. It's important to listen to our anger and respect the wisdom about ourselves that it shares with us. When we are angry it is because we feel violated or threatened in some way. If we can understand what is at the root of our anger we can find more constructive ways to deal with our fears or sadness that are behind the anger. A very good exercise is to acknowledge and bless our anger. Just because we feel angry doesn't mean we need to be angry or act out in angry ways. (Though anger is usually a call to action so it may require acting out in a constructive way If you discover you are feeling angry, sit with the feeling and see what it has to share with you and what other emotion is sitting behind it. blessings ovasoul
Guest guest
Hello, may light fill your being, Using the Ujjayi breathing technique, you can draw prana from 12 upto 24 digits before you--allow the breath to first land on top of the upper pallet, just above the upper teeth. At this point with the thought of a smile on your face you can practice moving the prana through either hemisphere, solar or lunar. Each day is an opportunity to burn the sheddings of the kundalini energy. with love, Donegal --- SUNEET SHARMA <sharma_suneet99 > wrote: > hello every one god bless > > do u know that alternative nostril breathing can be > done without using hands, that means even when u are > walking u can do it, listen to radio or watching tv. > please comment. > > god bless > > Suneet > > > > > Tired of spam? Guest guest
Dear Suneet: Sorry it took so long! Yes it is possible to do alternate nostril breathing without using your hands. You just need some practice and experience. The breath naturally goes through cycles where you'll breathe in more through the left nostril and then more through the right. I seem to remember that the cycles shift 4 or 6 times a day. The result is that you may feel more creative at times when the breath goes mainly through the left nostril and more focused and rational when you breathe more through your right nostril. You can change your experience by controlling your breath. For instance, if you feel sleepy in the afternoon after lunch you can do the breath of fire or breathe through the right nostril for a few minutes. I also recommend paying attention to the breath just as it is because your natural breath holds information particular to you. It is your connection to the "outside" world on the exhale, and the connection from the "outside" world to you on the inhale. After a while of paying attention, while letting yourself relax into it, you may notice that there is no difference between the "inside" and the "outside". It is as though at first something else is breathing you. The breath happens no longer as an automatic physical process, but seems completely freed of any constraints as a very subtle and light and infinite experience, and at that moment there is no time and space although you can bring yourself back instantly, but why not soar and let it happen! That moment is part of the experience of being one with all and life seems so easy. Let yourself get lost in your natural breath! I think those moments only happen by grace, we cannot force them to happen, but they seem to happen by letting the breath be normal. David Abram (author) says the breath is the natural pronunciation of YHWH (the name of God in Hebrew). The experience I just described confirms that for me. It is very profound. The practice of alternate nostril breathing without the use of your hands: Pay attention and notice which of your nostrils is taking in more air as you inhale, which is more open more free, which is more closed more constricted. Now practice focusing on inhaling even more through the nostril that is more open and free without the use of your hands. When you feel you have some control with that nostril, try inhaling more from the other nostril. This may require a little more concentration because you're going against the natural trend of the moment. You'll soon notice that you have more control over which nostril inhales more than you previously were able to. You can also start practicing refraining from inhaling from one nostril while inhaling more through the other. You'll start becoming even more effective! Now start doing it while walking. And then while talking with someone. You can see how you can improve your mastery by making the exercise under different circumstances. Trying relaxing as you do it though!
