Guest guest
Sat Nam, smoking is a habit that we use to fill a need. When you find yourself wanting to smoke take the time to tune into yourself and looking to see what emotional and/or physical state you're trying to avoid. And then breath Staying in the moment, accepting our current state and staying with it, and then altering it through pranayama will help you be conscious of the purpose the habit serves for you and will allow you to choose another way to be with or change your physical/emotional state. To be truly clear of any addiction/habit we need to clear the underlying cause or need that the addiction serves. As we go through that process we also need to replace the destructive habit with a more constructive, self loving one. Blessings on your journey and congratulations on choosing to breath in life rather than death blessings ovasoul Kundaliniyoga, "catlady496" <catlady496> wrote: > > I have been smokeing for quite awhile now and I am slowly quiting with > the physical part but my question is what meditiations and or > stretches can I do to help with the mental part of the addiction? > Kundalini Yoga, Books, Videos and DVDs on Kundalini Yoga, Meditation and Mantra CDs Terms of Service. Guest guest
Congratulations and pranayam! The single greatest thing that helped me overcome the smoking addiction was to appreciate my breath, really sit with it and give your full attention to the experience of breathing. The pure joy in the sweetness of a breath taken without constriction in the lungs was a greater power the my mind's brilliant idea that a cigarette was what I needed. There will probably be times of physical, mental and emotional discomfort, but know that the are fleeting moments and breathe right through them.
