Message from Nikhilananda Dasa (ACBSP ):

Your implication that Iskcon´s main objective in book publication is to make

money has been one of the accusations of the ex gaudiya math splinter

groups who are envious of Srila Prabhupada and who have tried to disturb his

mission until today. The choice of words in many parts of your texts reminds

me of their jargon. If they want to spread Caitanya´s glory, no one stops

them. Let them first prove that they really know so much better how to

distribute Gaura katha. Anyone can talk and dream. Having translated and

sold Srila Prabhupada´s books in many countries of the world I can assure

you that the focus was not in the money but in the preaching, often we

hardly recovered the manufacturing costs. While they criticized and knew

better, the disciples of Srila Prabhupada dedicated their lives and made

Lord Caitanya known to the world, by the grace of Srila Prabhupada.

Some of the members of these ex gaudiya groups swore in my presence to stop

and destroy the distribution of Srila Prabhupada´s books. Your suggestion

that it is only with the cooperation of these people of various ex gaudiya

missions that we can publish books and be successful in our preaching is

hard to follow, at least for me. Nor are your appeals for neutrality

applicable in this case. Even Lord Caitanya did not forgive those who

offended Sivananda Sena until they repented and showed a favorable

attitude. Those who create doubt in Srila Prabhupada and blaspheme those

who try to faithfully follow Srila Prabhupada and have given their lives to

him are indeed ungrateful, shameless offenders. With those members of the

ex gaudiya math who were favorable and encouraging we never had any problem.

It were those who had enough tact to not interfere with our affairs.

 

In the Caitanya Mangal ( Sutra-Khanda ) there is mentioning of Srila

Prabhupada in this way ( Lord Caitanya speaking of the reasons for His

descent ) :

"Now, without considering anything else, everyone just come with me, and

we´ll destroy the sinful activities of the age of Kali. With the powerful

chopper of nama-sankirtana I´ll cut the hard knots of demoniac desires

from the hearts of everyone."

"Even if the sinners reject religion or flee to foreign countries, still

they will get the mercy. I will send mor senapati bhakta to go there and

deliver them. (mor means My; senapati means a military field commander, and

bhakta means a devotee. So Lord Caitanya will empower His own devotee to

spread Krishna Consciousness around the world.)

This book is already being translated and published by Prabhupada disciples

in the English language.

This book has been available in the English language in most Iskcon temple

book shops, for the last five years.
