Guest guest
Dear Ramakanta Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances. Jaya Srila Prabhupada! I have been staying with my family in Jagannatha Puri for a few years, and during the last two months unusually many devotees from different places have been asking me about the possibility to undergo the pancakarma (Ayurvedic) treatment here in Puri. Finally, instead of answering such questions individually by telephone or e-mail, I decided to distribute the relevant information through Internet. I have already done it in Russian, but I didn’t know exactly where to send it in English. Therefore I have asked Vraja Kumara Prabhu’s advice as to where to post the information below to make it available to all English-speaking devotees who use Internet. He advised me to send it to you, so that you may post it on PAMHO. So here it is. You can edit it if required. There is an Ayurvedic doctor in Jagannatha Puri, who has a lot of experience in teaching and applying pancakarma therapies. He is a devotee of Radha-Krsna and a sincere friend of Lord Caitanya’s followers. His name is Dr. Deba Dash, and many devotees have taken treatment from him since the mid 1990-s. A few months ago a new clinic named “Ayurdwar” was opened on Station Road, just a 2-minutes walk from the railway station in Puri, and Dr. Deba Dash is available there every day for consultation and therapy. The procedures are from 9.00am to 1.00pm and from 4pm to 9pm. The best time to come for consultation is in the evening, 7.00pm. From the railway station you have to go to the left, then straight to the station bazaar. You will see a banyan tree in the crossing, so immediately after this tree you turn to the left, towards the sea, and just after some 15 meters, on the left side of that street you will easily find this “Ayurdwar” clinic on the ground floor. They do there about twenty main procedures for rejuvenation, relaxation, prevention of aging, purification of the body, improvement of memory, complexion, eyesight, concentration etc. Some of these methods specifically deal with insomnia, anxiety, depression, headache, backache, joint pain, obesity, weakness, arthritis, asthma, digestive disorders etc. etc. I think that most of English-speaking devotees know what pancakarma treatment means. The duration of one procedure is usually 45 minutes, and one can take two or even three different procedures in a day, if required. The whole treatment can take from one day up to several months, according to the necessity and capacity. The average cost of a one-week course (i.e. one procedure taken every day for seven days) is 3000-3500 rupees, or 60-70$. You can make a call to this clinic: (06752) 222290, and ask for Dr. Deba Dash or Dr. Arajyoti (the owner of the clinic). One can also try to contact Dr. Deba Dash at his residence: 224236, or through mobile: 9861077142. Their e-mail addresses are as follows: ayurdeba , ayurdwar (AT) asia (DOT) com I hope this information will be useful to all devotees who are coming only to Vrindavan - Jagannatha Puri – Mayapur and are interested to undergo pancakarma treatment here. Also, it is possible to get a practical training in pancakarma, under the guidance of Dr. Deba Dash, and learn to apply these methods, but such a course might take a longer time, like a couple of months. Thank you. Your servant, Akincana-priyabandhu dasa _______________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
