Guest guest
Plan of action: The Kuli Fund Jai Prabhu's, I've received a dozen or so responses asking why I sent out this news over the Turley settlement. For your 'average' devotee, know this 'controversy is headed your way. It's going to make most major newspapers, radio and other media around the world. Friends will be asking questions. Now you can be prepared. For kulis, I wanted to suggest we consider a plan of action. It sounds like ISKCON wants all kulis to sign up for this settlement. ISKCON will never need worry about a law suit again-from kulis anyway. I also wonder if 'they' want to disperse the monies to kuli's to spite Turley. Maybe they would like less pie to go around including Turley's share. ISKCON is so secretive, you just don't know. The Kuli Trust Fund As for the Kuli Fund, I'm assuming that the settlement is going to be about $10 million. Let's put 10% a side into a trust fund or $1 million. 5% interest would be $50,000 a year. We use this interest to sponsor a kuli organization for and by the kulis. We elect who runs it once a year and they sponsor programs for reunions, the arts etc. We get a vote based upon the amount we put in to it. $10,000 equals one vote for example. At the end of 5 years, we take our money back and hopefully, we will have an organization that is self sustaining. All other organizations 'for the kulis' are run under the guard of ISKCON 'older devotees' with little interest to know what kulis really want. These organizations therefore only second guess kulis based upon their own interests and agenda's. We may now have the opportunity to do something as our own community of kulis. I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Raghu
