Mind Blizzard of Emails

Please mind my blizzard of posts. I have had no computer for about 3

years now so can only write (and send) while in Hilo. I have neither the

cash nor credit for a new one. Lame but true. Hopefully, I will get one

this year.

Ananda was kind enough to let me use his computer while here in Hilo,

which is about every 3 or 4 months. I usually only have days to complete

all my posts, emails and writings. And so you get swapped with 10 posts

in 4 days and then don't hear from me for months.

In spite of this handy cap, I managed to complete 4 Chapters on the

community hand book called 'Temple: Guardian and Habitat of the Vedic

Arts & Sciences.' (60 responses)

I also completed the nearly 20 page essay on 'Vedic Culture: Turn Key

Civilization.' Received about 80 responses. Some professors saw it and

invited me to give a presentation at the University of Massachusetts at

their international conference for the latest findings on Vedic culture.

200 attending professors.

I outlined ROOPA: 40 pages. Also sent about 15 newsletters, 2,000 emails

(about 3,000 more to go) and other small miscellaneous essays. Not bad

for about 3 months of writing.

New Site & ROOPA: Assembling Team

ROOPA Volunteers

I'm leaving today for the mainland. I'm going to work on assembling a

team for doing this ROOPA project. We have three people so far in the

last 24 hours since the last posting. The idea is that people choose one

or two areas of their interest and begin researching or sharing on that

topic. We could then have this research well on its way by the end of

summer. More latter.

New Web Site

I am also going to gather material for our new website. I'm working with

Visvambar and Britya from Badger. Our site is to be the National

Geographic and Peoples Magazine for the devotees on the internet. The

site should be ready by the end of the week. More latter.

Coming to Visit: Got Room

I leave tomorrow for Oakland, arrive Tues night, the 6th.

Pittsburg, Wed. the 7th to visit my Brother Light.

I will be N Vrindavan on Fri the 8th for Maddy's play: Burnt Ladhu.

Apparently, this 2 hour musical is 'loosely based' on my life according

to Maddy. The dangers of living with me for 3 years, you get sucked into

all my drama. He is doing this musical as a tribute to me and my

generation of kulis, so he says. With Maddy, you don't know if he is

just being a sweetie, but you can't help love him. The musical was such

a hit in England that devotees sponsored to have the entire crew from

England flown over to re perform this drama for the GBC meetings here.

It is a tear jerky.

I also hope to find some devotees interested in working with me on ROOPA

at New Vrindavan. I will be taking profiles of devotees and projects for

our new web site as well. I hope to get at least 50.

Going to LA on 13,

I'm available for giving massage during this time if there are any

interested parties.

Badger on the 16th.

I hope to get about 200 profiles of devotees for the website at the

Badger event. Britya and his brother Visvambar are the tech genius

behind this site and so we will finalize things for the site while

there.

San Francisco on the 20th.

Hope to gather another 30 or so profiles while there.

LA Prabhupada Festival 23.

New Dwarka's "fringie" devotees show up for this so hope to get an

additional 100 to 200 more profiles of devotees not normally available

at the temple. Many of ISKCON's 'old timers' come for this festival.

NY Ratha yatra, June 14.

I will be off to a yoga retreat for 10 days in California after the

Prabhupada Festival before returning to New York for a few weeks in

June. After that, not sure yet.

ISKCON Bankruptcy Settlement: $10 Million: $15,000 Each

I've received a number of questions about the court case from my posts.

I know nothing, please don't torture me. With that, I give you the

'rumors.'

ISKCON took an insurance policy out after the Robin George case for

exactly this kind of law suit. It is for $10 million. Confirmations any

one?

The present settlement kulis have been asked to sign is not with Turley.

Rather it is with the bankruptcy court. The primary cause and lien is

Turley. However, Turley is only one of the lien holders with the

court-from what I understand.

Those who contact the bankruptcy court are not joining the Turley law

suit. They are two different parties. Further more, this is what ISKCON

wants. 'They want' kulis to sign in for this settlement-from what I

understand.

Reason: because you will have for ever forfeit your right to sue which

of course is a mute point. Who has the time? More specifically, this

allows ISKCON to clear its books for all potential liabilities for past

kuli abuses thereby allowing them to put their financial house in order

and begin planning for the future.

The post I sent was from ISKCON's legal office. Signing in with the

bankruptcy court in no way gives credence or momentum to Turley's law

suit-from what I understand. Nor will it affect the amount ISKCON pays.

Therefore, ISKCON is encouraging all legitimate cases of abused kulis to

sign in.

My figures: If the settlement is indeed $10 million, Turley will get

40%. Of the $600,000 remaining, I'm guessing we will get about 350

claimants or about $15,000 each.

As a side note: I have never joined Turley's law suit.

Druva's Death: Funeral Details?

A number of devotees are sending in their condolences to me. I don't

know were to forward them to. Nor have I heard anything more concerning

services for him etc. Please let me know so I can tell everyone.

Re: Ganga is Dead: Another Kuli Shoots Himself,

I just saw that. It makes me feel sad. Back in New Dwaraka, Manasa Ganga

was one of my old friends.

I will pray for Dhruva and for her. How do i reach Manasa Ganga?

Re: Ganga is Dead: Another Kuli Shoots Himself,

Darn Raghu,

I live here and I only just heard this today. I am just concerned how

his

parents would feel about it being all over the net before they,

themselves

have had time to process it.

Also, am not sure the details below are correct. I heard he was missing

8

days and it was the police with dogs who found him. However I am not

claiming to be correct either. What I am claiming is its too soon to be

sending much of anything around the net. I would not have written if I

had

not recieved the letter about it. Being a mom, I can't imagine what his

mother must be going through at this very moment.

Anyway, please send his family, and him, prayers. Hare Krishna.

P dd

Ganga is Dead: Another Kuli Shoots Himself,

Dear Raghu pamho agtsp,

this is so sad !

It's so sad that these things are happening in our movement.

This is the third suicide I am hearing of.

Was he depressed for a long time ?

Did I meet him ?

Does Maddi know him ?Maddi is in New Vrindaban right now, I believe.

In any case, Somembody close should perform the pinda ceremony.

I have done it previously and can tell you how or somebody close how

that

works.

It should be done to allow him to take a body.
