Guest guest
I am so pleased that these boys are kindly helping me in spreading this Krsna consciousness movement, and Krsna will bless them. I am very insignificant. I have no capacity. My business is only to convey the message of Krsna. Just like a postal peon: his business is to convey the letter. He is not responsible for the body of the letter. The reaction... After reading one letter the addressee may feel something, but that responsibility is not for the peon. Similarly, my responsibility is, what I have received from disciplic succession, from my spiritual master, I am just presenting the same thing, but without any adulteration. That is my business. That is my responsibility. I must present things exactly in the same way as it was presented by Krsna, as it was presented by Arjuna, as it was presented by our acaryas, Lord Caitanya, and at last my spiritual master, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Maharaja. So, similarly, if you take up the Krsna consciousness movement in the same spirit, and if you distribute to other people, to your other countrymen, surely it will be effective, because there is no adulteration. There is no bluff. There is no cheating. It is pure spiritual consciousness. Just practice it and distribute it. Your life will be glorious. >>> Ref. VedaBase => Lecture -- Los Angeles, July 11, 1971 (New-2003) And here are some quotes about keeping presentations and preaching of Krishna consciousness simple and straightforward, without unnecessary innovations: Because they heard of our program in Bombay along with the Zavery sisters Manipuri Dancers, here in London they had arranged one program of lecturing by me along with a recital by one man playing on the vina just to attract attention to my speaking. I am not in approval of such arrangements, and it will be dangerous thing in future if we begin this type of program just to attract the masses. Already I see this happening practically all over the Society, so better we stop it now and get ourselves firmly on the track chalked out for us by Lord Caitanya. We are simply Sankirtana men, our program is chanting, dancing, distributing prasadam, and speaking high philosophy, that's all. (Srila Prabhupada Letter, May 26, 1969) So far as the Road Show and this Yoga Village are concerned, these things should be stopped. Simply perform our kirtana. If we divert our attention in this way, the whole thing will gradually deteriorate. He is going far away. All these things are nonsense inventions. Such inventing spirit will ruin our this movement. People may come to see, some will become devotees, but such devotees will not stay because they are attracted by some show and not by the real thing, or spiritual life according to the standard of Lord Caitanya. Our standard is to have kirtana, start temples. What is this ``Road Show'' and ``Yoga Village?'' It will be another hippie edition. Gradually the Krishna Consciousness idea will evaporate: another change, another change, every day another change. Stop all this. Simply have kirtana, nothing else. Don't manufacture ideas.
