Guest guest
Dear Sudama Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! > Srila Prabhupada has also stated that not only must one be QUALIFIED to > accept disciples, he must also be specifically authorised by his > predecessor acharya to do so. Two things must be there - qualification, > and authorization. I agree that a diksa-guru has to be authorized. But this is also true (or even more) for a ritvik. To act as a ritvik (initiate disciples on behalf of Srila Prabhupada) one has to be authorized by Srila Prabhupada, by no-one else. Now my question is how this ritvik system will continue after the eleven ritviks that Srila Prabhupada authorized left the planet. Who will authorize ritviks in the future? As I know Srila Prabhupada did not authorize these eleven disciples to appoint other ritviks. Wouldn't that mean that the future generations will have to take shelter in gurus outside of ISKCON? ys Ramakanta dasa
Guest guest
Dear Ramakanta Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. Recently Sankarshana Prabhu directly e-mailed me some arguments which he also posted on the "Initiations in ISKCON" conference. He had previously had a number of private exchanges with me, but now I assume he is sending me these texts to invite me to respond on the conference. Even though Sudama had d me to this conference sometime back I have deliberately avoided posting anything here, lest it gets shutdown. I think the conference is a good forum to allow devotees to discuss and debate important issues and I did not want to be a cause of getting it closed. However if you give me permission to post on this conference, then I am willing to do so. However I will only get involved if I know that my posts will not be censored or the conference will not get shut down later on due to others being afraid that if I continue posting I will begin 'convincing' others. In particular, even though you yourself may be gracious enough to allow me to proceed, later on the 'powers that be' will not at all be happy when they hear that 'Krishnakant' is 'preaching' freely on COM (PAMHO), which is supposed to be 'their' (ISKCON establishment) forum. And they may 'lean' on you to do something. If you can guarantee me that you are indeed the 'supreme authority' for PAMHO and will not close down this conference or restrict me from presenting my points, I will be happy to respond to some things that Sankarshan prabhu has sent me. Otherwise, I wish the conference well in the limited debate and discussion it will continue to provide. Thank you, Your servant, Krishnakant
