Guest guest
Hare Krishna! Please accept my humble obeisancies. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! Today at the time of evening Goura-arotic (between 6:30 and 7:00 PM Mayapur time) form of Lord Gouranga been transported and positioned on the altar. It was a big day of hard work!!! Since 11:30 AM devotees were trying to bring the Deity into the temple and onto the altar. There were unexpected delays, like when the cart with the Deity on it got to the doorway of the temple room we discovered that Gouranga's wide open arms won't fit in the doorway and it was already too late and not possible to turn Him, so devotees had to quickly demolish part of the wall. Then the tyre of the cart went flat... Devotees did not have expirience to deal with mooving such heavy weghts, so they proceeded slowly and carefully. Sthapatis, who made these Deities in South India, also came and was helping a lot. If not for their expert help, who knows if we could get the Deity on the altar. In one of the photos attached you can see the main sthapati, his name is Radha-Krishna, directing the lifting of the Deity to the standing position. When it all was done and Gouranga was standing in His position on the altar, a huge relif came over everyone and devotees rushed forward onto the altar unrestrictedly and spontaniously, shouting 'Gouranga!!!' 'Haribol!!!' They were touching, embracing, kissing, stroking Gouranga's form still wrapped up in paper and plastic - it didn't matter... Devotees were offering flowers, putting their babis to the Lotus Feet, praying at the Lotus Feet of Gouranga, putting their heads to Gouranga's feet for as long as they wanted - no one was pushing anyone aside or telling to get off the altar, some devotees were embracing Gouranga and giving Him abhishek of tears... Happy end of the day! I took 2 GB of photos throught the day (showing what was happening) and here just a few of them, last once. Please find these photos in the attached file, it is a Zipped folder, size 296 K.
