Guest guest
Dear Maharajas, Prabhus and Matajis, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and his followers! One day in the month of November in 1977, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada suddenly began to shed tears lamenting about the dilapidated condition of many of the temples founded by the followers of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. At this time, he expressed his desire that a trust be established for the purpose of renovating these ancient holy places. Accordingly, on November 5, 1977, the Bhaktivedanta Swami Charity Trust (BVSCT) was officially formed to renovate and develop the old temples of the followers of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu as well as to reunite the Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya, especially the disciplic descendants of His Divine Grace Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada also made some of his Godbrothers Trustees of the BVSCT and HH Jayapataka Maharaja its Chairman. In an attempt to fulfill Srila Prabhupada's abovementioned desires, BVSCT is directly involved in the renovation and development of the old temples as mentioned above. BVSCT has also taken up the initiative to form the Sarasvata Gaudiya Vaishnava Association (SGVA), a confederation of the disciplic descendants of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, thereby attempting to reunite them. "BVSCT Information" is a moderated information-only mailing list ("conference" in PAMHO), where periodically I shall post updates on the ongoing activities of BVSCT. If you want to become a member of this mailing list ("conference"), please write to me at bj.priya.jps (AT) pamho (DOT) net.
