Was the system of TPs voting in GBCs ever adopted, > and if so how did it come to be rescinded? Srila Prabhupada never activated the voting system. On about May 27th, 1977 when Srila Prabhupada asked for questions, one of the questions was how GBC's would serve or be replaced. The exact wording is well known and in vedabase, I can't remember verbatum now. But the result was Srila Prabhupada said GBC's would serve for life and that the present system of management would be continued. Upto that time the GBC had been appointing additional GBC's and filling vacancies themselves and Srila Prabhupada would give his blessings. That is the system which is followed since then respecting Srila Prabhupada's desires.
