Guest guest
> Dr Anuradha Bose of the Christian medical College in Vellore, India, said > in a study in the Lancet Medical Journal, that family conflicts, domestic > violence, failed romances and mental illness have pushed the suicide rate > of young people in southern India to the highest in the world. Suicide > accounts for one-half to three-quarters of all deaths in young women and > quarter of deaths in young men in the region. Suicide is a leading cause > of death in 15-19 year olds worldwide. In 2000, an estimated 815,00 young > people worldwide took their own lives. is there a web page that gives the suicide rates of different countries and age groups around the world? I think this is an area that ISKCON can be active in, ie. suicide prevention. We are totally against suicide and have scientific vedic information what happens when someone commits suicide which might help people to avoid this negative option to solve problems. In some places there are societies to prevent suicide. We could interface with them and in this way we can make more devotees from these contacts.
