Guest guest
On November 24, 1966 Srila Prabhupada said: "You have to corroborate whether guru, what guru is speaking, whether it is there in the scripture; what scripture is speaking, whether that is in the character of guru, or in the sadhu, saintly persons, or spiritual master. So you have to always make comparison with three things: sadhu, sastra, guru." (CC Madhya 20.119-121 lecture) Did the ritvikvadis follow this instruction of Srila Prabhupada and compared their conclusion concerning initiations with sadhu and sastra? If yes, what was the result? ys Ramakanta dasa
Guest guest
Dear Sankarsana Prabhu, PAMHO. AGTSP! > The ritviks are trying to invent a new Srila Prabhupada who did > not follow the scriptures and the previous acharyas. I don't think they are doing that since they also say that the words of the bona fide guru is not different from what the sadhus and sastra say. And this is confirmed by Srila Narottama Dasa Thakur: "sadhu-sastra-guru-vakya cittete koriya akya". Note that it says "vakya" ("words") and not "what we think they say". But the ritvik followers are not using the method prescribed by Srila Prabhupada how to understands the words of the spiritual master ("so you have to always make comparison with three things: sadhu, sastra, guru"), and therefore they misunderstood the July 9th letter (which is not even written by Srila Prabhupada). Or in other words: If our understanding of the spiritual master's words is not confirmed by sadhu and sastra, then our understanding is wrong. ys Ramakanta dasa
