Guest guest
My Dear Isvara Prabhu, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada. It was nice to hear from you through this conference. If the July 9 letter is saying what the ritvikvadis are claiming that it is saying, Srila Prabhupada would have had to instruct us to change his purports and even change the words of Lord Krishna and Lord Caitanya to match their intrepretation of the July 9 letter. Therefore it can easily be seen that their interpretation is indeed just that, an interpretation. Srila Prabhupada taught us to take Krishna consciousness as it is without interpretation. Lord Caitanya has ordered that we become gurus. Srila Prabhupada has confirmed that this means both siksa and diksa guru. Their position is indeed that of opportunists. They are trying to take control of a movement that was put under the hands of the GBC by Srila Prabhupada. They want to wrest the control of ISKCON out of the control of the GBC into their own hands. They are simply twisting the words of Srila Prabhupada out of their lust for power. When I tried to register the domain name www.ISKCONAustin.com for our ISKCON Austin center I found it the editor of Back to Prabhupada magazine had already registered it along with ISKCON Dallas, ISKCON Houston, and ISKCON Texas. If they want to spread Krishna consciousness with their own concocted philosophy that is their business, but they should not do it in the name of ISKCON. Prabhupada gives the example, "If you want to smoke marijuana do it with your own hand, not with my hand." Hoping this meets you in good health, Always your humble servant, Sankarshan Das Adhikari ==================================================== Contact Information: Ph: 1-512-835-2121 Mail: ISKCON, 10700 Jonwood Way, Austin, Texas 78753 USA Isvara (das) GGS (Touchstone Media - IN) [isvara.GGS (AT) pamho (DOT) net] Saturday, January 01, 2005 4:53 AM Initiations in ISKCON Insulting our intelligence! The whole idea of ritvikism is tantamounts to impersonalism; not accepting the guidance of a physically present guru, on the premise that the previous guru is the best guru. Lord Krishna said one should inquire into the Absolute truth, by approaching a bona fide guru who is coming through the parampara system. The Lord did not said to overlook the parampara and simply goes to the first person at the beginning of the parampara, regardless if you can actually see the person, and have personal interaction with him. We have examples of so many perfect personalities, who though already perfect, still accept initiation of a personally present guru. Ramanujacarya even met Yamunacarya, when the later was in his dying bed, and even received his instructions, but still Ramanucarya accept the initiation from a disciple of Yamunacarya. Madhavacarya, though he actually met Srila Vyasadeva, but still he accept initiation from an earthly physical guru. Since our process is a personal process, where relationship is that of intimacy, initiation into spiritual life from a physically present guru, present the dynamics of spiritual life. Now not only must one accept the shelter of physically present guru, still when that guru passes on, one is requires to continue siksa from physically present guru. Krishna consciousness is such that there is no such a time when the guidance or shelter of a physically present guru would not be needed. Though such needs may be manifested differently according to the maturity of the individual person. My only conclusion all along is that the ritviks are opportunists, have no philosophy; basing their arguments on July 9th letter, which was not even written by Srila Prabhupada. Arguing with them back and forth is sheer waste of time. ys, Isvara dasa.
