Why is the IRM pushing?

My Dear Prabhupadanugas,

Please accept my humble obeisances.

All glories to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada.

"This is the parampara system. My Guru Maharaja

pushed me, I am pushing you, and you are pushing

others. Just like a train."

--His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, Sept 4, 1977.

The IRM is telling me that I cannot push, while

they are very aggressively engaged in pushing.

One IRM member ordered me to give up my position

of pushing. This is contradictory. If taking a

position of pushing is wrong then how can he push

me to do so? If pushing is wrong then he cannot

push me, otherwise he is a hypocrite. Hypocrisy

is one on the symptoms of the Kali Yuga. Is the

IRM increasing the hypocrisy or ending it?

The IRM says that no one after Srila Prabhupada can

push. So why are they pushing?

Hoping this meets you in good health,

Always your humble servant,

Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Dear Sankarsana Prabhu

PAMHO. AGTSP!

Although I am only intending to discuss with MCd at the moment, I was

intrigued by the following quote you supplied:

>"This is the parampara system. My Guru Maharaja

>pushed me, I am pushing you, and you are pushing

>others. Just like a train."

>--His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, Sept 4, 1977.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find any reference to this quote in Srila

Prabhupada's conversations. I may well have missed it, but there does not

seem to be any conversation dated Sept 4, 1977. Please correct me if I am

mistaken, and please supply a fuller context of what Srila Prabhupada

actually states.

The references to this quote that I *did* come across appear in two

near-identical accounts - one in "TKG's Diary" and one in the "Lilamrta":

1) TKG's Diary: "After many months of preaching in Communist Europe,

Ghanasyama finally came out. Throughout his travels, his reports had

brought so much pleasure to His Divine Grace. Now he came before Srila

Prabhupada, who asked him to come close. Then with great affection,

Prabhupada stroked his head and neck for a long time. "This is the

parampara system," Srila Prabhupada said. "My Guru Maharaja pushed me, I am

pushing you, and you are pushing others. Just like a train."

2) Lilamrta, Vol. 6: "Letters from Ghanasyama in Eastern Europe had brought

Srila Prabhupada repeated pleasure. When Ghanasyama came to England,

therefore, Tamala Krsna brought him before Srila Prabhupada. Calling him

near, Prabhupada stroked his head. "This is the parampara system," he said.

"My Guru Maharaja pushed me, I am pushing you, and you are pushing others.

It is like a train."

When read in the full context in which this statement attributed to Srila

prabhupada appears, it is clearly not any sort of endorsement or appointment

of diksa guru successorship as you imply. Aside from that, I would like to

see the SP conversation it actually orginates from, because I just cannot

find it.

Thank you.

Your servant,

Deepak
