Guest guest
Jaya Srila Prabhupada! Thanks so much for the wonderful story! Boy, it is really an important task to produce Krishna lila - and all other services for that matter - with integrity and principle. In Bombay in 1973 I played the Kaliya serpent amidst some of the neighborhood children in a drama which I prepared for Srila Prabhupada to watch. Unfortunately, none of the senior devotees told him about it. After his evening lecture he rose from his vyasasana and left, just before my performance. I was very unhappy but I carried on. Still, I did get a chance to perform for Prabhupada on a few occasions, including the Syria Mosque with HH the late Visnujana Swami and in Brooklyn temple. The latter was "Krishna Kidnaps Rukmini," script and direction by your humble correspondent. When Krishna cut off Rukmi's hair and beard Srila Prabhupada smiled from his front row rocking chair and said in a low but audible voice, "Now he is worse than dead." Everyone was delighted and I shall always remember that. Yours, Sravaniya dd
