Dear Erik prabhu,

 

Hare Krishna!

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

 

I noted your sincere enquiries. In order to understand what is Srila

Prabhupada's actual order regarding continued diksa in Iskcon, we have to go

back and examine everything he has said on the subject. Also we have to see

how his instructions fit in the total picture and keep in mind that "in

logic, later statements supersede previous ones in importance."

 

Now, as early as in 1968, Srila Prabhupada said the following:

 

Yes, I am the Spiritual Master of this institution,

and ALL the members of the Society, they're supposed

to be MY disciples. They follow the rules and

regulations which I ask them to follow, and they are

INITIATED by me spiritually. So therefore the

Spiritual Master is called Guru. That is Sanskrit

language." (Srila Prabhupada Radio Interview March 12,

1968, San Francisco)

 

As a matter of fact in EVERY SPIRITUAL INSTITUTION it is the ACHARYA, who is

the ultimate authority of the Institution. Unless the ACHARYA appoints a

successor, he remains the Acharya.

 

Srila Prabhupada did not pass the ACHARYA-ship of ISKCON to anyone else. He

kept it. And instructed his disciples to continue as ritvik, initiating

Srila Prabhupada's disciples on his behalf in his absence. A process, which

he already practically applied in Iskcon from very early days.

That after his entering Samadhi, the GBC 'assumed' they had now "inherited"

ISKCON and the Ritviks 'assumed' that they were now the SELECTED SUCCESSSORS

TO THE TITLE/POSITION OF ACHARYA, both have been false and a grave mistake

and offense to Srila Prabhupada.

 

Unless the core members of ISKCON are willing to see this and correct

themselves, we will have the kind of internal friction that the HARE KRISHNA

MOVEMENT is involved in today.

 

In the meantime, we are neglecting the millions of human beings on this

earth, who are in dire need of pure Krishna Consciousness, which Srila

Prabhupada has made available to them, but distribution of which is being

checked, by less intelligent leaders of the Movement, which are not able to

understand this simple truth - that Srila Prabhupada was, is and will remain

the ONLY ACHARYA of ISKCON. And to follow Him means abiding by his Ritvik

order.

 

Thus a great chance of heart has to take place in ISKCON. Will it? When?

Good questions. I would like to know too. May Lord Caitanya speed up the

process, so we can once again all 'live in the house Srila Prabhupada built,

in which the whole world can live."
