ISO, Mantra Eight: Prose text

It looks like verse to me, although the last line is hypermetric. But that

happens not only in sruti mantras, but even in the Bhagavatam and

vernacular smrtis as well, even if less obviously. Ultimately, this kind

of thing can be difficult to settle definitively, because those treatises

governing the standard rules of prosody are many and varied enough to

support just about any hypothetical contention. That said, Mantra 8 is

metrically consistent in general.
